Actress Julia Barretto shared an update on the case she filed against former broadcaster Jay Sonza.

To recall, Sonza started a controversy on his Facebook post claiming that Julia is pregnant with the child of rumored boyfriend Gerald Anderson. Although both camps of the celebrities denied this, Sonza reiterated that someone has already admitted about this.

Because of the accusation from the former broadcaster, Julia decided to take the legal battle against him. Together with her mother Marjorie Barretto, the actress went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to file a complaint against Sonza’s “fake news”.

During a recent virtual press conference as the newly-launched artist of Viva Artists Agency, Julia Barretto shared an update on the complaint she filed, based on the article from PEP.

“Right now, they’re all under investigation. So what I’m waiting for is a feedback from NBI, and then we can go ahead with our case,” she said.

She also stressed that it is time to defend herself. As she has been through a lot, this is her way of protecting herself against outside forces that has been trying to destroy her.

When asked how is she now, the actress said that she is okay. Julia is also thankful for her support system that has been helping and rallying behind her back amid various issues.

Meanwhile, the support that Julia Barretto has shown recently for the private resort business of Gerald Anderson ignited speculations that they are slowly coming out.
