Dasmariñas Cavite Mayor Jennifer Barza Isolated for COVID-19
DASMARIÑAS CAVITE MAYOR – Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga of Dasmariñas City tested positive for COVID-19.
The Philippines is currently battling the spread of COVID-19. As of this writing, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 311,694 cases of the disease in the country.
According to DOH, the said total COVID-19 cases includes 5,504 deaths and 253,488 recoveries. The whole nation is still under community quarantine measures as part of the efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Also, the wearing of a face mask and the practice of social distancing became protocols when going outdoors. Public establishments like shopping malls also require a face shield upon entry.

Several people in the national and local government contracted COVID-19 amid the fight against the pandemic in the Philippines. Noticeably, many mayors became coronavirus patients in the line of duty.
Recently, Dasmariñas Cavite Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga tested positive for COVID-19. Based on the Mayor’s announcement on Facebook, it was on Monday, September 28 when the result of her swab test atrrived.
Mayor Barzaga tested positive for coronavirus. She is currently under isolation and boosting her immune system to fight the virus.
Following the Dasmariñas Cavite Mayor testing positive for COVID-19, the whole city hall is temporarily closed for disinfection and sanitation. Based on the post, she apologized for the inconvenience that the closing of the city hall may cause the people.
According to Mayor Barzaga, most of the people she had a contact went already went through swab testing and many of them are negative for coronavirus. She reminded everyone who had a contact with her to reach out to their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Team or the City Health Office.
