PhilHealth to Shoulder Swab Test Expenses for Senior Citizens & Individuals Prone to COVID-19
PhilHealth announced that senior citizens and individuals who were prone to the coronavirus disease can get free swab tests.
On Wednesday (September 30, 2020), the Philippine Health Insurance Corp said that the agency would shoulder the expenses of swab tests for individuals who were at risk for COVID-19, including those who were listed by the Health Department.
PhilHealth spokesperson Rey Baleña said that senior citizens and at-risk persons could avail of the program. He said that qualified individuals should not pay anymore due to the benefits.
“Ang PhilHealth ay mayroong COVID-19 testing package. Ito ay nakatalaga sa mga kababayan natin na nakalista sa DOH guidelines,” Baleña said
Baleña said senior citizens and other at-risk persons could get a free swab test in over 105 laboratories accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. The health institution assured the public that qualified people don’t need to pay anymore.
“’Yung pasyente na pupunta doon at qualified among those at-risk sa listahan ng DOH ay sila ay entitled sa PhilHealth benefit,” Baleña added.
