Stricter Home Quarantine For COVID-19 Patients As GCQ Extends
STRICTER HOME QUARANTINE – Officials announced that only a select few people exposed to COVID-19 may be placed under home quarantine.
Going into its 7th month of community quarantine, Manila has around 60 percent of its hospital beds and intensive care units occupied. As such, local government units of the province gave their word to build additional isolation facilities.
Meanwhile, National Task Force COVID-19 Spokesperson military Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla stated that home quarantine would only be allowed for patients with commorbities. Furthermore, the patient must have their own bedroom with separate bathroom.

Additionally, according to an article from ABS-CBN, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said: “Dapat talaga’y agresibo nating ilagay sa mga isolation facilities ang ating mga positive. At iyong tinatawag nating close contacts o iyong mga na-expose dapat ay ma-lock down muna iyan at ma-test bago sila lumabas ng bahay“.
However, as the home quarantines become stricter, Residents of Metro Manila have been allowed to fly to Boracay starting October 1. But, those who want to travel must first test negative for COVID-19 and be quarantined before their flight.
Moreover, Padilla emphasized that authorities in Kalibo town are ready to accept tourists. Along with this, he asserted that though stricter measures are imposed to travelers, they would make sure the tourists would enjoy their stay at Boracay.
