Medical City Says Beds For COVID-19 Patients Are Full

MEDICAL CITY – The Medical City recently said that its beds for patients with coronavirus disease 2019 are currently full.

According to ABS-CBN News, the hospital is now added to the list of hospitals whose resources had been stretched by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The said hospital has 90 beds prepared for COVID-19 patients, among them included 16 beds at the intensive care unit, according to chief medical officer Dr. Rafael Claudio.

“Kasalukuyang masasabing kami ay puno pagdating sa mga bed capacity na nakalaan para sa COVID patients,”

“Maaaring magdagdag kami ng mga kama para sa mga may sakit na COVID pero ang pinaka-critical ay kung maa-accommodate namin kung saka-sakaling sila’y magkaroon ng serious na kritikal na kalagayan na kailangan ilagay sa ICU,”

Some patients had to stay at the emergency room due to bed shortage in MArch and April, Claudio added.

Based on the report, he also added that it is difficult to transfer the patients to another school because many are so full.
