Tom Rodriguez Warns Public of Phishing Scam on Instagram
Kapuso hunk-actor Tom Rodriguez warned the public and fans of “phishing scam” on social media as he was nearly victimized by the modus.

On his Instagram stories, Tom Rodriguez share a screenshot of a direct message by an alleged Instagram Copyright Help Center and Customer service. Along with the screenshot is a short message that warned people.
“Don’t be a victim of these [‘Phishing’] schemes… kahit may blue checkmark pa, hindi ibig sabihin legit,” he stressed.
“Nanakawin lang ang details nyo ng site nila since nakaw lang din ang account na to,” the actor added.

Based on the photos, the alleged scammer told Tom that they had detected a copyright violation on his account. To amend this apparent violation, they asked Rodriguez to provide details via a certain link, a move Tom warned the public to be cautious about.

He also revealed that the said private account is just a stolen one, has around 252,000 followers. Many celebreties have been a victim of phishing scam, where the scammer uses the name and identity of known celebrities to fool people.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has previously warned Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries to be careful of phishing scam. They will get your personal information to commit online theft.
