DSWD Warns SAP Beneficiaries As They Are Targeted By Scammers
SAP BENEFICIARIES TARGETED BY SCAMMERS – The Department of Social Welfare and Development warned SAP beneficiaries of scams regarding cash aid.
In DSWD’s official Facebook page, they posted:
According to the DSWD, some pages on online social media platforms such as Facebook are being used for phishing personal information from online scammers. Afterward, this information may be used to commit online theft.
Furthermore, the DSWD warned SAP beneficiaries not to give away their M-Pin, one-time pin and other information to suspicious individuals online.
Additionally, the DSWD stated:
Moreover, they emphasized that only the DSWD Central Office, Field offices, ad City Social Welfare offices are those who can give correct information regarding the ESP-SAP of the DSWD.
The SAP is a cash aid given by the government to families that have been severely affected by the new coronavirus, COVID-19.
Currently, the Philippines has recorded over 143,000 cases of COVID-19. Of that number, at least 2,404 have succumbed to the deadly disease. Meanwhile, 68,997 have recovered.
