Man Earned Criticism Online After Caught Throwing a Sack of Trash at the River of Bacolod

Video footage shared by a concerned citizen of Bacolod City elicited comments online after a man was caught throwing trash on the river.

Over the past few decades, pollution from garbage has become one of the major environmental problems not only in the Philippines but also in various countries around the world. Garbage pollution is also one of the major reasons for heavy flooding that causes inconvenience to thousands of Filipino people.

Government agencies and many environmental groups are working to reduce the rising rate of garbage pollution in the country. However, there are still stubborn residents who dumped their garbage on water.

In video footage shared by Philippine Star, an irresponsible man was spotted dumping a sack of garbage in the river of Bacolod City. The uploader is a concerned resident of Barangay Singcang.

According to the post, the concerned resident has already reported to the local authorities but said that no action has been taken. The uploaded said that they already told the city and the barangay officials.
