Twins Paolo, Miguel Guico of Ben&Ben to Hold Songwriting 101
BEN&BEN – Band Ben&ben twins Paolo and Miguel Guico will be teaching aspiring musicians about songwriting online.
Indie folk-pop band Ben & Ben is taking over the Philippines’ music industry by storm because of their touching songs. They are the geniuses behind the songs “Pagtingin,” “Lifetime,” “Kathang Isip,” and “Ride Home.”
The 9-piece band was brought together by twin brothers Paolo Benjamin Guico and Miguel Benjamin Guico, formerly known as The Benjamins. They needed musicians to help them record their first EP in 2016.
Ben&Ben won the Favorite Song of the Year and Best Performance by A Group Recording artist for their song “Pagtingin” at this year’s 33rd Awit Awards. Their 2019 album ‘Limasawa Street’ also bagged the Favorite Album of the Year award.
Based on a report from MYX, aspiring musicians will now have an opportunity to learn from Miguel and Paolo through “MYX Musiclass.” It is a series of free virtual music coaching sessions organized by MYX Philippines.

According to the report, Ben&Ben’s Michael and Paolo are set to share their expertise on songwriting to 100 participants who have registered for the webinar. The virtual music coaching sessions will start on September 26, 4 p.m.
MYX said the 100 slots for the twin’s coaching session immediately filled just over an hour after the registration opened. The participants will undergo an enjoyable and unique online music learning via Zoom.
In a previous article, Ben&Ben covered K-pop songs on their Youtube Channel. They performed songs by famous groups BTS, EXO, and IU. They gave a jazzy twist to BTS’ latest hit ‘Dynamite’ in their BBTV vlog.
