Himig Handog 2020 Open To All Genres Of Music
HIMIG HANDOG 2020 – ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo said ‘Himig Handog 2020’ will accept all genres of music.
There are lots of songwriters in the Philippines. Filipino composers pen their struggle on the lyrics of their songs. The largest tv network in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, help these composers show their songs to the world.
They launched the songwriting competition ‘Himig Handog’ to show off the best of ‘Original Pilipino Music’ (OPM) to the world. It is regarded as “the country’s premier songwriting contest.”
Himig Handog accepts compositions from anyone wherever in the country. Renowned singers and celebrities perform songs written by the participants.
Among the stars who participated in the biggest songwriting tilt include Morissette Amon, Alex Gonzaga, Jake Zyrus, and Toni Gonzaga. Last year, they received almost 4000 entries.

The Kapamilya network once again opened the biggest multimedia songwriting competition in the country. In a Facebook live chat, last Saturday, ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo said ‘Himig Handog 2020’ will accept all genres of music like rock, reggae, and hip-hop among others.
“Wala tayong tema para sa Himig Handog 2020. Ang hinahanap namin ay magagandang kanta na pwedeng mag-uplift at magdala ng good vibes para sa ating listeners,” he said.
The songwriting competition Himig Handong served as a platform to discover the songwriting skills of the Filipinos. It is open for all Pinoy songwriters from the Philippines and abroad.
