PAGASA – Southwest Monsoon To Affect Parts Of PH This September 18, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, September 18, 2020 (Friday).

The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau said that the southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting Luzon and Visayas on this day.

According to GMA News, habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the provinces of Batangas and Quezon.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered moderate to occasionally heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, the bureau still observes an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 AM.

Tropical Storm Leon (Internationally called Noul) was last spotted at 1,010 kilometers west of central Luzon. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 105 kilometers per hour as it moves westward at 20 kilometers per hour.

For the wind speed forecast, the western section of Luzon will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southwest to south direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and the western sections of Visayas and Mindanao will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southeast to south direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the east to southeast direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
