PAGASA – Leon, Habagat To Bring Cloudy Skies, Rains Over Parts Of PH This September 17, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, September 17, 2020 (Thursday).

The morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that Tropical Storm Leon and southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Caraga, Aurora, and Quezon.

According to GMA News, the bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains.

Tropical Storm Leon was last spotted at about 665 kilometers west of Ambulong, Batangas, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

It is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 105 kilometers per hour. It is moving west northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour.

The southwest monsoon or habagat, on the other hand, will be affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Metro Manila, as well as the rest of the country, will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, the western section of central and southern Luzon will moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southwest to southeast direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and the western section of Visayas will have moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southwest to southeast direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the southwest to southeast direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
