Lightning Strike In Danao Kills Two Individual
LIGHTNING STRIKE IN DANAO – A lightning strike in Danao killed two men who were gathering copra and injured another person.
According to the Bohol Chronicle, the two fatalities were identified as Eduardo Butal and Franklin Butal. Eduardo died on the spot while Franklin was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival, according to Master Sgt. Joey Orapa of the Danao Police Station.
Another casualty, identified as Ronelo Yanong, was critically injured. He was with the two fatalities when the incident happened.
Orapa said that the trio was struck by lightning at past 12 PM on Thrsday in Barangay Sta. Fe.
They were gathering copra and coconut when it began to rain. Personnel of the town’s municipal health office were immediately deployed to the area.
The trio suffered severe burn injuries, which caused the death of the two men while Yanong was treated at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City, according to the report.
