Davao Occidental Hit by Earthquake with 6.3 Magnitude

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 6.3 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental, September 9, 2020.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes, especially around areas in Mindanao.

JUST IN: 6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Davao Occidental

Just earlier in the day, a magnitude 5.7 earthquake shook Davao Occidental. Hours later, another earthquake hit, this time with a magnitude of 6.3 around the same area.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake occurred around 3:18 PM with a depth of 073 kilometers. With the location being 04.13N, 126.70E – 159 km S 54° E of Sarangani (Davao Occidental).

Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“. But the agency advises the people to wait for factual information and not to panic.
