PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, August 27, 2020 (Thursday).

The latest weather update from the state bureau said that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) which was last seen at about 925 kilometers east of 925 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte but it would be the southwest monsoon which will affect northern Luzon.

According to GMA News, the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Trough of the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Oriental. Again, flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Again, flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, the northern and western sections of northern Luzon will have strong winds that are moving southwestward while facing rough to very rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds that are moving southwestward while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the south to southwest direction while facing slight to moderate to rough coastal waters.
