De Vera said that 186 more universities and colleges will start their classes in September or October.
About 2,400 higher education institutions are currently operating in the Philippines, the commission added.
Based on the report, the Department of Education (DepEd) moved the class opening from August 24 to October 5 in public schools in order to have.
De Vera Noted that schools have different schedules of opening because they offer programs in various academic terms such as semesters, trimesters, and quarters.
The academic institutions considered their preparedness during the COVID-19 pandemic in choosing the date for their class opening.
