According to Inquirer, they will be required to wear face masks or shields as they tend to their fields as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.

Emily Isidro-Viceo of the 3rd district, vice-chair of the health committee who is also a board member, filed the said bill which would make face protection for farmers compulsory while planting or using the manual hand tractor.

Those who will violate the requirement under the proposed ordinance will receive a fine ranging from P1,000 to P5,000.

Bulacan provincial agricultural and fisheries Council president Pol Fajardo said that they also welcomed the proposal despite having difficulty in complying with the order.

Vice Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, who is also a health committee chair said that the board would decide this week whether or not they will pass the proposed ordinance.
