PAGASA – Habagat To Bring Scattered Rains  This August 24, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, August 24, 2020 (Monday).

The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon on this day.

According to GMA News, the habagat will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Region,

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will be faced by Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to habagat and localized thunderstorms.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate or heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, Severe Tropical Storm Bavi (locally called Igme) is drawing habagat toward Northern and Central Luzon.

It was last spotted at 825 kilometres north northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon at 3 AM on Monday. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometres per hour and gusts of up to 135 kilometres per hour. It is moving ast northeast at 10 kilometres per hour.

A gale warning was raised over the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon as it faces moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will face moderate coastal waters while the rest of the country will face slight to moderate coastal waters.
