Ronnie Liang Give Free Plane Tickets To LSIs
RONNIE LIANG – Singer and army reservist Ronnie Liang gave free plane tickets to locally stranded individuals (LSIs).
In 2018, Filipino actor-singer Ronnie Liang joined the Army Reserve. Last February, he was promoted to 2nd lieutenant after undergoing training at the Armor Division at Camp O’Donnell in Tarlac.
The 34-year-old singer is among the celebrities who help fight the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In a previous article, he was awarded by the Philippine Army due to his remarkable efforts.
Ronnie Liang also exerted effort in facilitating transport assistance for the locally stranded individuals (LSIs). On July 29, he visited them at the Rizal Stadium and Army Gymnasium.
The army reservist performed a number of songs and handed them free plane tickets. In his email to PEP, he said, “As an army reservist and concerned Filipino, gusto ko talagang makatulong. That’s really my purpose naman talaga kaya rin ako nag-join sa army—to help and serve people.”
“Ito nga narinig natin ang balita tungkol sa mga kababayan natin na gustong umuwi sa probinsiya kaya nagpaabot tayo ng free plane tickets,” he added.

In a Facebook post, Ronnie Liang recalled his own experience of being stranded, back when he was still commuting Manila and Pampanga. He said “I know the feeling na gusto mo na talagang umuwi pero wala kang pamasahe. When I saw them, nabasag ang puso ko and it reminded [me] of the day na wala din akong pamasahe.”
The singer also urged his fellow Pinoys to help, unite and stand together.
