Ronnie Liang received two awards from the Philippine Army

Singer and army reservist Ronnie Liang was awarded by the Philippine Army due to his remarkable efforts to help fight the COVID-19.

Ronnie is one of the celebrities who went through military training. Amid his acting and singing stints, he found the opportunity to serve the country, and in times that the Philippines is fighting against the fatal effect of the new coronavirus, he also did his part to help the community.

Because he answered the call of duty for the fight against COVID-19, the singer received two awards, the Meritorious Achievement Medal and Disaster Relief Rehabilitation Operation Ribbon, based on the article from GMA News Online.

The awards were given to him on June 16 at the Armor Pambato Division Headquarters Camp O’Donnell in Capas, Tarlac by Army Commanding General LT Gen. Gilbert Gapay and Armor Pambato Division Commander Major General Robert C. Dauz during the 44th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Armor Division.

The awards that Ronnie received symbolized his strength, dedication, and hard work amid the pandemic. He also fulfilled his duty even during the quarantine.

Ronnie Liang exerted effort in facilitating transportation assistance for the stranded medical workers. Aside from that, he also participated in relief goods distributions and assisted the 30-day repacking of relief goods that were distributed to affected families.

The singer also joined the team of AFP Mobile Kitchen Kapwa Ko Sagot Ko and they fed 3,000 to 4,000 homeless and less fortunate Filipinos amid the crisis. He was also one of those military men who spent their time guarding the checkpoints in Valenzuela City and NLEX Balintawak.

“I would like to share these awards Meritorious Achievement Medal (MAM) and Disaster Relief & Rehabilitation Operations Ribbon ( DRRO) to all the men in uniform who answered the call of duty in the fight against Covid19,” Ronnie Liang said.
