Elderly Woman, Nurse Arrested In Separate Drug Busts
ELDERLY WOMAN – A 60-year-old woman and a nurse were arrested in separate drug busts in the provinces of Batangas and Laguna.
According to GMA’s Balitambayan, in the municipality of Balayan in Batangas, the elderly woman, identified as Reyna Nepomuceno, also known as Mommy Brenda, was arrested there.
Retrieved from the suspect were about 20 sachets of illegal drugs other than a sachet that the suspect sold to a poseur buyer.
Nepomuceno made no further statement. She will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, also known as Republic Act No. 9165.
Based on the report, meanwhile in the municipality of Sta. Rosa, Laguna. a nurse, identified as Christian Alvarez Nonaillada after he was caught selling drugs in a buy-bust operation.
Retrieved from Nonaillada were two plastics of illegal drugs which, according the suspect, he made brownies out of. These worth at about P2,000.
In his defense, he decided to be a pusher due to financial needs since his sibling has undergone chemotherapy.
In Kalinga, suspected drugs worth at about P80.86 million was destroyed and burned in Tinglayan town in Kalinga province.

Chief of Cordillera police Brigadier General R’Win Pagkalinawan said that the burning of nine drug plantations were conducted from August 17 to 19 at Mt. Chumanchil in Tinglayan town.
