JUST IN: New Zealand Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases From PH Travelers
NEW ZEALAND COVID-19 – After 96 days of being free from COVID, reports revealed 2 travelers From PH were positive for the virus.
In a media release dated August 5, 2020, health authorities from New Zealand stated:
There are two new cases of COVID-19 to report in managed isolation facilities in New Zealand Today.
It has been 96 days since the last case of COVID-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source.
The first case we are reporting today is a man in his 20s who arrived in New Zealand on July 23 from the Philippines via Hong Kong…
The second case is a woman in her 40s who arrived in New Zealand on August 1 from the Philippines via Hong Kong.
Along with this, New Zealand also reported that there are currently 24 active cases of COVID-19 being managed in their isolation facilities. However, there is no case that is receiving hospital-level care for the new coronavirus.

According to the report from CNN, the man from his 20s was isolated at the Rydges in Rotorua and was transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility after he tested positive. Meanwhile, the woman in her 40s was placed at the Grand Millenium in Auckland who tested positive after 3 days of quarantine.
