I think this is the first time, at least probably in a couple of months, that we haven’t had somebody in hospital, so that’s another good position to be in.

After a grueling 2 months, the total number of confirmed coronavirus patients is at 1,154. Bloomfield accredited their success to aggressive testing and contact tracing each time they had a positive case.

As per the report, New Zealand’s testing centers conduct around 4279 tests yesterday. This brought the total number of tests done to 267,435. However, even without any new cases, New Zealand still remains at alert level 2.

This move was done to ensure that border procedures were safe and secure and to address any remaining concerns about the further spread of the disease. Additionally, New Zealand expects more people coming into the country.

Following the containment of the virus, New Zealand’s government announced a $37 million Coronavirus vaccine strategy. Moreover, the budget was aimed to assist the national and global efforts to create and distribute a vaccine for COVID-19.
