Rannie Ludovica clarified his “shoot-to-kill” post

Quezon City’s Task Force Disiplina head Rannie Ludovica issued a statement after he was criticized for his “shoot-to-kill” post regarding the newly-implemented modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

In line with the continued rise in the number of patients infected with COVID-19 in Metro Manila, the government once again implemented the MECQ from GCQ.

Following this, based on the report from Rappler, Ludovica posted this statement on his Facebook account: “Mula bukas, shoot to kill na ang lalabag sa MECQ.”

Reportedly, he shared this post at around 3 pm on Monday, August 3, but he took it down before 6 pm on the same day. Because of this, he received criticism from the online community.

Following the bashing that he received online, Rannie Ludovica released this statement through his recent Facebook post.

He directly addressed the article about him published by Rappler as he stressed that it was his “personal post”. “Nagmula ang nasabing personal na Facebook post ng inyong lingkod sa aking pagkadismaya sa pagbalik natin mula sa GCQ to MECQ,” he said.

He clarified that the local government of Quezon City has no “shoot-to-kill” policy against violators of the protocols. Ludovico also stressed that Rappler made a malicious article from his “personal post”.

The QC Task Force head also said that the number of COVID-19 cased in their city continues to rise because of the lack of discipline of many people. Rannie Ludovico added that he is one with the frontliners who are sacrificing their lives for their duties.

“Tanging pagsunod sa health protocols at quarantine guidelines lamang ang paraan upang masugpo ang pandemyang ito,” he said in his statement.
