PAGASA – Habagat To Bring Rains, Dindo To Exit PAR This August 3, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA on this day, August 3, 2020 (Monday).

The latest weather update from the state bureau says that the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring rains over parts of Luzon while Severe Tropical Storm Dindo (international name: Hagupit) moves northwest to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to GMA News, habagat will bring occasional rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Group. Flash floods or landslides might occur in these areas.

Habagat will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

The low pressure area’s (LPA) trough was last spotted at about 570 km east southeast of Davao City. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region.

Meanwhile Dindo was last seen at about 475 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes as of 4 AM.

It is packed with maximum sustained winds of about 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 115 kilometers per hour. It is currently moving northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour.

At 5 AM, the weather disturbance was over the Yaeyama Islands in the southern Ryukyus and is moving toward the East China Sea. It is expected to leave PAR on Monday morning.

Based on the report, a gale warning has been raised as the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon and the western section of Central Luzon will face rough to very rough coastal waters. Waves may reach as tall a 4.5 meters.

The rest of Luzon will face moderate to rough coastal waters while Visayas and Mindanao will face slight to moderate.
