DTI Urges Wearing Of Masks, Gloves In Gyms, Fitness Centers
DTI – The Department of Trade and Industry recently urged the wearing of masks and gloves in the soon-to-be-reopened gyms and fitness centers.
Gymes and fitness centes are expected to reopen on August 1, according to an article from Inquirer.
Internet shops, tutorial and review centers, and drive-in cinemas are also allowed to reopen but at 30 percent capacity in areas under GCQ or general community quarantine.
Also allowed to reopen are establishments offering personal grooming, aesthetic services, and pet grooming given that employees will wear protective gear, according to DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez.
“Ang mga dagdag na pag-iingat po natin dito sa pagbukas ng ilan pang sektor ay yung pagrequire ng iba pang protective gears dito po sa mga sectors na ito and workers nito at customers nila,”
“For example itong mga gym, mga fitness centers, mga sports faciltiies. Nirequire po natin dito sa mga pumupunta sa gym na magsshare ng equipment, kailangan may gloves sila. Syempre nakasuot din ng mask lalo ng kung may mga ibang tao doon,”
Based on the report, Lopez also noted that physical distancing must be observed. He added that the establishment shoul also have good air circulation.
The capital will remain under GCQ until the 15th of August. Cebu City will also remain under GCQ.
Among the areas under GCQ also include the following:
- Luzon
- Bulacan
- Batangas
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Rizal
- Visayas
- Lapu-Lapu City
- Mandaue City
- Talisay City
- Minglanilla
- Consolacion
- Mindanao
- Zamboanga City
The rest of the country, on the other hand, will still remain under MGCQ or modified general community quarantine.
