Electronic Manufacturing Firm In Laguna Suspended Due To COVID-19
LAGUNA – An electronics manufacturing company in Laguna was suspended by the government due to the high cases of COVID-19 there.
According to ABS-CBN News, authorities from the local Provincial Office placed a 24 hours temporary shutdown order in an electronics manufacturing firm, identified as NIDEC Philippines, which is found in an Industrial Park in Binan City.
The local government conducted a probe on NIDEC Philippines in order to determine if the said company observed health protocols properly such as disinfecting the premises and contact tracing.
Governor Ramil Hernandez said that should they find that the company did not observe protocol, they would take initiative to guide them rather than punish them.
“Kung may makita tayo na pagkukulang, may nakita tayo na dapat ayusin tutulungan po natin sila, hindi po natin sila ishinutdown para parusahan sila,”
They suspected that there is transmission within the firm’s canteen, work area or shuttle service, with the latter’s reason is due to not complying with the 50 percent capacity in their service vehicles.
Based on the report, there are about three firms in the province which have high cases of coronaviirus disease (COVID-19). Hernandez contacted the said three to, as mentioned above, determine if they observed protocol.
