Netizens are comparing the two Darnas, Jane de Leon and Angel Locsin
Jane de Leon and Angel Locsin are being compared now on social media due to how they responded to the ABS-CBN issue.
Angel was supposed to play Darna in a movie but she already played the iconic superhero role on GMA’s teleserye in the past. Then, the role went to Liza Soberano, and eventually, Jane was chosen to portray the Pinay superhero.
Fans have been calling Angel as the “real-life Darna” because of her charitable endeavors. Just recently, she also showed fierceness when she spoke before ABS-CBN supporters during a rally.
She bravely attacked the enemies of the network while calling out to her fellow celebrities to speak out. That may sound inspiring to many but others said that it was unnecessary for her to say that because other people have the right to decide how to show support.
For Jane de Leon, there are many ways to show support for her home network and not just conducting rallies that would be a health threat to many people amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Because of this, some concluded that the new Darna was talking about the previous Darna. However, Jane received bashing due to what she posted. Some netizens said she does not deserve to be called as the new Darna.
