ANG PROBINSYANO – Here are some of the most talked-about issues of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” roughly four (4) years of its airing on television.

Kapamilya show “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” is a consistent top-rater since its first episode and holds the highest of rating in terms of pilot episode garnering 41.6% and having 42.7% when the book one ended.

And roughly four years of airing and being with us every night since its first day on September 28, 2015, here are inevitable controversies hurdled by the program:

  1. Its July 15 episode showing police women, who were helpless, abused by a group of men which apparently showed a sensitive and violent scene inappropriate for the young viewers. (Read: FPJAP: PNP Reacts To Violent Scenes Involving Characters Of Policewomen)
  2. Philippine National Police (PNP) reacted to the negative portrayal of cops in terms of corruption where in the show, Cardo Dalisay left the police force and joined Pulang Araw and later on formed a vigilante group called Vendetta.
  3. Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the show over the scene where Vice Ganda’s character Ella changing a flat tire in the rain with the help of Coco Martin’s character while talking about something with some hidden meaning.
  4. In July 2017, Arayat town in Pampanga and its officials called out the program for apparently, the show is giving their town a bad reputation with regards to rebels and depicting it as “a haven and breeding ground for terrorists and hoodlums.”
