Free COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Begins Operations

FREE COVID-19 TESTING – The City of Manila has begun operations of its free coronavirus drive-through testing site.

In the Philippines, one of the biggest concerns health experts had was the capacity to conduct mass testings. Since the start of the viral epidemic, several lawmakers, health groups, and residents alike have called for mass testing.

However, Malacañang emphasized that what the country needed wasn’t mass testing but “targeted” testing.

Luckily, Manila has made a step in the right direction with their free drive-through coronavirus testing site. According to a report from ABS-CBN, people have lined up for the site as early as 1 AM.

There was an array of vehicles that were seen in the site today including vans, tricycles, and even bikes. Some even came from other cities such as Quezon.

Meanwhile, those who usually use Taft Ave. were urged to look for an alternate route since the road repair and line for the testing would hinder the flow of traffic.

Those who line up would undergo a rapid coronavirus testing with results expected to in just an hour. Results could also be sent via email, text, or call.

To those who want to avail of the free coronavirus testing, all you need to bring is a government mandated ID. Furthermore, the testing is not limited to people within Manila.

However, only people who had “wheels” could avail of free testing. So, even if you just have a bicycle, you could already make use of the free service. But, if you’re on foot, you would be redirected to the nearest hospital.

The testing site would open until 5:00 p.m.
