Lea Salonga Call On Followers Say A Prayer For ABS-CBN Employees

Lea Salonga Urge Followers To Pray For ABS-CBN Employees

LEA SALONGA – ‘The Voice‘ coach Lea Salonga called on her followers to say a prayer for Kapamilya employees.

On July 10, the House Committee on Legislative Franchise denied ABS-CBN’s franchise bid. On Wednesday, July 15, the media company announced that they will stop the operations of some of its businesses and lay off employees on August 31.

The tv network said laying off workers was the “only way to ensure the continued employment” of the rest of its employees. The company did not reveal how many workers will be retrenched. However, the Kapamilya network said they would be “paying out separation and retirement benefits and providing job placement programs.”

In a report, veteran singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid took to social media to share his prayers for the retrenched employees and the people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. “Abba Father, please take care of those who will lose their jobs and even those not involved with our company that have lost their jobs too,” he wrote.

Singer Lea Salonga called on her followers to pray for the employees who are affected by the retrenchment program. She wrote, “Please say a prayer for the many men and women of ABS-CBN as well as their families, that they weather what might possibly be the biggest challenge of their lives. Mahigpit na yakap, mga Kapamilya.’”

In another Tweet, Lea Salonga said it is immaterial at this point “whether you were in favor of the shutdown or not.”

“Pray for them anyway. To be suddenly out of a job is not something to wish upon another human being, especially in the middle of this seemingly never-ending pandemic,” she added.

@Lulu88076383: “We do for everyone who lost their jobs whatever company they may have worked. We’re not selective there are many companies who have closed too not just ABS CBN.”
