Home Quarantine In Bacolod City Not Allowed, IATF Says

HOME QUARANTINE IN BACOLOD CITY – Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, who also chairs the IATF there, said that positive COVID-19 cases are not allowed to stay under home quarantine.

According to the official page of TV Patrol Negros, the report came from Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s decision after a confirmed local transmission in Negros Occidental.

Familiaran added that Patient 53’s spouse, who violated the strict home quarantine protocol, was supposed to be taken to the quarantine facility in order to prevent the residents of Purok Grandville III from getting infected.

However, Punong Barangay Rodolfo Pico said that City Health Officer Dr. Carmela Gensoli said that the woman is allowed to be under home quarantine.

Another problem that was pointed out by Pico is that there are no available quarantine facilities in Mansiligan to accommodate Patient 53’s wife.

Based on the report, Dr. Grace Tan of the Bacolod City Health Office reported that because borders are open and there is an ease for residents to travel, there will be an even higher risk of acquiring the virus.
