Miss Universe Titlists Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray Speak Up As ABS-CBN Franchise Denied
MISS UNIVERSE QUEENS – Filipino Miss Universe titlists Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray spoke up after ABS-CBN’s franchise bid denied.
On Friday, June 10, the House of Committee on Legislative Franchises effectively shut down media giant ABS-CBN Corp. for good. The tv network had been trying to renew its franchise since 2014.
However, the company faced a lot of roadblocks, especially under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration. Last December, the Davaoeño politician vowed to block the company’s franchise renewal.

Lots of people are hoping that the government will give the ABS-CBN a new franchise. In a report, GMA-7’s ‘Saksi’ ended its newscast with a different extro. The closing spiel of news anchors Raffy Tima and Pia Arcangel caught the attention of the viewers.
