Markki Stroem Unveils Teaser Poster of His BL Series

MARKKI STROEM – Kapamilya hunk singer Markki Stroem is set to star in a boy love (BL) series.

Boys Love (BL) series have become more popular nowadays. This genre is made to tell gay stories or narrate gay feelings. It was adopted from online gay romance novels.

In a previous article, we listed five (5) Filipino BL series that you should watch out for. American actor Tony Labrusca starred in a Pinoy BL series “Hello, Stranger” with JC Alcantara.

Filipino-Norwegian singer-actor Markki Stroem took to his Instagram account to announce that he is set to star in a BL series alongside Mike Liwag. He uploaded the teaser poster of his new project titled “Unlocked” directed by Adolf Alix Jr.

“Cat’s out of the bag! Something a little more risqué than your typical ‘BL.’ Thank you direk Adolf Alix for the opportunity,” Markki said in his post.

Markki Stroem also shared the synopsis of his BL series. He said it will be aired in several countries in Southeast Asia. It will be premiered on the one and only LGBTQ streaming site in Southeast Asia, GagaOOLala.

“Each episode focuses on a different kind of loving relationship put to the test under lockdown, “I wanted to develop stories where the circumstances of the pandemic are a catalyst for a deeper examination of relationships. It acts as a purgation of sorts – be it the physical distance or the paranoia of the situation,” explained by the creator of the series Adolfo Alix Jr.”

“The six stories are as follows: a heartbroken man hires a prostitute to help him cope with loneliness, a long-term gay couple need to reevaluate their relationship after being forced to be together 24/7, a single mother is trying to connect with her lover who is a nurse in the US, an elder professor reflects on his life after his young neighbor knocks on the door, a teenage boy comes of age and realizes about his real self during lockdown, a man alone in his apartment experiences a breakdown.”
