Ara Mina Hopes Lawmaker Recognizes ABS-CBN Contributions

ABS-CBN – Filipina actress and singer Ara Mina hopes that the lawmakers would consider ABS-CBN’s contributions throughout the years.

On May 5, the largest television network in the Philippines, ABS-CBN halted its operation after the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released a cease and desist order against the media network as its franchise had lapsed a day before.

The government agency’s move gained various reactions from the people. Some of them asked the government to reconsider its orders because the country is facing a pandemic and thousand of employees are losing their jobs or livelihoods.

The Congressional hearings are ongoing and several celebrities have expressed their side on ABS-CBN’s franchise issue. On Sunday, the supporters and employees of the media network wrote messages of encouragement on the freedom wall outside the ABS-CBN office.

Recently, veteran actress Ara Mina took to her Instagram account to show support for ABS-CBN. She has appeared in numerous Kapamilya shows in the last twelve years. She recently played the role of Ellen Padua in Coco Martin’s action-drama program “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

The 41-year-old celebrity hoped that the Congress recognized the company’s contributions throughout the years. She pointed out some reasons why the Kapamilya network deserves to get another 25-year franchise. Ara cited how the media network has proven its worth to millions of Pinoys over the past years through public service and entertainment.

While the prominent actress said she respects the legal process of the ongoing Congressional hearings, she also hoped that they would consider the tv network’s contribution to the people here and abroad. She concluded her Instagram post by saying she remains hopeful that the company would manage to get through whatever its going through right now.
