HEARTBREAKING – Here’s the viral photo of the elderly jeepney driver who begs along Rizal Avenue, Manila.
The 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected the lives of all the people around the world. Millions of Filipino families are struggling to earn some money amid the health crisis.
Last May, jeepney drivers in Metro Manila were seen begging on the streets. They lost their livelihood during the implementation of ECQ due to the pandemic.
Kapamilya actress Bea Alonzo and ‘I Am Hope’ founder Rina Navarro distributed relief goods to the jeepney drivers who are begging money in the streets. She shared photos of the relief operations and thanked TV Patrol for informing the public about the situation of the drivers.
“Thank you TV Patrol for this story. Kung hindi dahil sa inyo, hindi namin makikita ang storya nila. Can’t be prouder of our team from I Am Hope who quickly responded and extend help to the jeepney drivers who have lost their source of income because of this pandemic,” she wrote.

On Friday, July 3, CNN shared a photo of a jeepney driver begging along Rizal Avenue, Manila. Based on the caption, the old man’s Baclaran-Sta. Cruz route is not included to resume operations today.
