First Of 4 Coronavirus Vaccine Candidates Reveal Good News
CORONAVIRUS VACCINE CANDIDATES – The world continues the race to find a vaccine for the new coronavirus, COVID-19.
Hundreds of potential vaccines have been created. However, not all of them have made it through clinical trials just yet. But, Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech’s COVID-19 candidates have shown promising results.
Their vaccines were tested on 45 volunteers given low or medium doses at about one month apart. Moreover, the volunteers’ immune response was shown to be protective when compared to COVID-19 survivors.

Still, much like most vaccines, there were some side effects such as pain at the point of injection and fever. However, the report has yet to be published in scientific journals nor reviewed by the medical or scientific institutions.
According to an article from Inquirer, there are currently 15 different coronavirus vaccines that are conducting human trials worldwide. However, there is still no guarantee that the vaccines would work and still requires intensive research.
Meanwhile, there are about 100 potential coronavirus vaccines being developed globally. However, as per the report, the adenovirus type 5 vectored COVID-19 or Ad5-nCoV was the first to undergo human trials.
The antivirus works by exposing a human’s cells with a weakened common cold virus, incapable of causing diseases. Afterward, the virus is used to deliver genetic material for the SARS-CoV-2 spike in cell proteins.
