Rey Ongpauco, father of Heart Evangelista, reveals their argument which lead to not talking to each other for three years.
HEART EVANGELISTA – The father of Heart Evangelista, Rey Ongpauco, revealed what he and his daughter would often argue about before.
Being always the Daddy’s Girl, Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista recalled what it felt like for not talking for years to his father Rey Ongpauco. This is because of a misunderstanding they have had a few years back that broke their relationship for while.
It was about her boyfriend that reached the point where he was not able to attend her wedding. He said, “Nung una ayaw ko kaya di tuloy ako nagpunta sa kasal niya. Siguro mga three years kami nag aaway nito eh. Hindi kami naguusap.”

To recall, the parents of Heart were not in favor of her relationship with former Senator Chiz Escudero who is now her husband. They were not able to attend their wedding but after some time, the actress reconciled with her parents and they saw how her husband now has been taking care of her.
Those years that she was not talking to her father has greatly affected her. She said in their video for a certain product, “It was really hard for me because having a solid family really mattered to me. So when I lost my family, I was lost as a person.”
Her father is a restaurant magnate who owns several well-known restaurants in the city. While her mother is Cecilia Ongpauco. Her parents have already separated long time ago and it is something that she supports because they are happier that way.
