Bacolod City Allows Reopening Of Personal Care Services

BACOLOD CITY – Personal care services such as massage parlors, sauna, facial care, and waxing are now allowed to reopen in Bacolod City.

According to SunStar, Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently issued Executive Order (EO) No. 43-A, which allows the said services to reopen at 50 percent capacity.

The Executive Order also states that all business establishments which provide personal care services, shall strictly follow the imposed public health standards that was set in the following:

  • Department of Health Administrative Order No. 2020-0015
  • Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Memorandum Circular No. 20-33
  • DTI- Department of Labor and Employment Joint Interim Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of coronavirus disease
  • any other issuance by other government agencis regarding health guidelines.

Based on the report, the capital city of Negros Occidental was under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) under EO No. 38, Series of 2020, which began on June 1.

Under EO 43, the MGCQ in the city was extended until June 30, 2020.

Under Section 3 of EO 43, the provisions of EO No. 38, with the exception of provision on intrazonal travel between Iloilo City/local government units of Region-VI and Bacolod City, will still continue to be in full force and effect for the duration of MGCQ until June 30.

The Department of Trade and Industry also issued Memorandum Circular No. 20-23, which revised the list of business establishments or activities under Category I-IV and allowing certain establishments to operate in areas under quarantine.
