There are 22,000 duplicate SAP beneficiaries – DSWD
SAP Beneficiaries – The Department of Social Welfare and Development has found 22,000 duplicate recipients of the cash aid from the social amelioration program.
DSWD personnel started distributing the second tranche of cash assistance from the government last month. However, the second distribution once again faced a problem.
Previously, there had been reported incidents of anomalies in the distribution of SAP. Some local government officials were complained by their constituents due to alleged corruption.
On the other hand, some beneficiaries of the cash aid were criticized for using the money they received for their vices or gambling. In a recent report from GMA News Online, DSWD found that there are duplicate SAP beneficiaries.

Because of this problem, the department is intensifying the validation process. DSWD Undersecretary Rene Paje said, “ito po ‘yung sinasabi natin na pinaiigi ng DSWD ang pag-validate o pagproseso sa duplication, at ito nga po, napag-alaman natin.”
He added that the department has already coordinated with the local government officials on what to do regarding this matter, LGUs can take back the money or record the names of the duplicate recipients.
“Kung ito naman kasi ay mga regular beneficiaries natin tulad ng 4Ps [Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program], mababawi po natin sapagkat hindi naman na natin isusunod ‘yung kanilang kabayaran sa mga buwan na darating. Kung kaya’t kung anong halaga ‘yung nadoble sa kanila, mababawi po natin,” Paje added.
The DSWD Undersecretary also said that the LGUs will be the one in charge to those who are not members of 4Ps.
