CAFGU Member Shot To Death In Barangay Tagbak, Jaro, Iloilo
CAFGU MEMBER SHOT TO DEATH – A member of a Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit was recently shot to death in Barangay Tagbak, Jaro, Iloilo.
According to Panay News, the victim, identified as Herbert Catacutan, aged 63 years, has succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center.
Catacutan was sweeping dirt outside his house when he was attacked by two gunmen who was aboard a motorcycle, according to Jaro police chief Major Renante Jomocan.
Witnesses reported that the assailants were riding on a yellow motorcycle. The gunman was wearing a helmet and a pair of shorts.
Catacutan had no derogatory police record, Jomocan added.
“Target talaga ang biktima. Bago ang pagbaril may nakakita na ng motorcycle sa area. Several times pabalik-balik, parang nagsu-surveillance,”
His family member claimed that Jomocan was a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit, but the JAro chief said that the victim was not listed.
