Public School Teachers Forced To Camp Along Highway Just To Get Signal
PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS CAMP – Several public school teachers in Maco, Davao de Oro were forced to set-up camp along the highway in the upland areas just to find a signal so they could join the education department’s Webinar.
Admittedly, the Philippines lags in internet availability, speed, and connectivity compared to other countries. This is more emphasized in areas where people hardly get any signal for their phones to connect online.
The opening of classes on August 24 has been highly debated due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. However, the Department of Education had already set its eyes on opening the classes on August 24 with their blended learning program.

This program would mix physically classes with online ones. Meanwhile, some schools have opted to go for purely online classes in the first semester. However, thousands voice concern that online classes may not be a viable solutions for every educator and student in the Philippines.
A strong example of this is the efforts the teachers of Davao de Oro had to go through just to get a signal for an online seminar on the new guidelines for the opening of classes. Many question what would these teachers do when classes actually starts.

Kagigil ang gobyerno sa ganitong sitwasyon. Why didn’t they set up webinar centers at some schools for each.municipality that could accommodate these teachers. Hindi kayo ready yet you implement such program. That’s putting the lives of these teachers in dangers . Trial and error na Lang lagi .
Dedication… the government should see this as an opportunity to take care of their needs.
Teachers don’t deserve this miserable situation! DEPEd must do something!!!!!!!
