British National Died After Being Turned Away to 2 Hospitals in Cebu

BRITISH NATIONAL – The foreigner who has difficulty in breathing died after two hospitals in Cebu refused to give medical assistance.

In a Facebook post of a concerned netizen named Byron Garcia, he said that a British national identified as Barry was suffering from breathing difficulty while staying at the Oasis Condo. The management of the said Condo Immediately called an ambulance to bring the foreign national to the nearest hospital.

According to his post, when the ambulance arrived at the Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue, the nearest hospital from the condo, medical staff refused to give treatment. Then, they were referred to the Chong Hua Hospital Fuente.

However, the hospital refused to receive the patient in the emergency room. As a result, the patient was stuck at the ambulance for almost 7 hours with no first aid treatment and still waiting for the management decisions.

The foreign national patiently waited while talking to the ambulance crew the whole time, until he went into cardiac arrest. The crew immediately perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advance cardiac life support (ACLS) in attempt to revive him.

The officer of the ambulance company suddenly arrived and appealed to the medical staff to give him immediate treatment. However, they refused the appeal saying “They were just following orders and protocols.”

As the officer pleaded to the doctors, five security personnel surrounded him and readies to tackle him anytime, which resulted to a commotion. The commotion prompted the hospital supervisor to come out and talked the officer.

Later on, the supervisor agreed to treat the patient and ordered a stretcher to take the British national inside the emergency room. However, Barry is already dead when he was taken out of the stretcher.

The Facebook post has gone viral on social media and earned elicited comments from the online community. Netizens express resentment to the hospital who refused to give medical attention to the poor foreigner.
