PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) this June 8, 2020.

The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ, as well as the warm winds from the east will bring scattered rains over Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan.

According to GMA News, the ITCZ will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN and Davao del Sur.

The ITCZ, as well as easterlies, will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas and the rest of Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms or easterlies. The bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that might occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, the ridge of a high pressure area still extend over Northern Luzon, which will also face slight to moderate coastal waters.

Palawan, Mindanao, Visayas and the rest of the country will have slight coastal waters that might change during thunderstorms.

The sun has risen at around 5:26 AM and is expected to set at 6:24 PM.
