Kobe Paras Will Help Raise Bail For Arrested Protesters In UP Cebu

KOBE PARAS – Basketball phenomenon Kobe Paras pledged that he will help rais bail for the arrested protester in Cebu City.

Following a previous article, Cebu City police arrested at least 7 activists during a protest against President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s new bill, the Anti-terrorism bill. The controversial bill aims to toughen the government’s anti-terrorism policies.

Lawyers and other groups were terrified of the bill. They said there is a great chance that the government will abuse their power. Some say the provisions were “imprecise and poorly worded.”

Based on a report from Phistar, University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons star Kobe Paras said he will help raise bail for the seven protesters in Cebu. Cops arrested them for allegedly violating the quarantine measures.

The 22-year-old athlete was among the celebrities who were against the anti-terrorism bill. Among the celebrities who joined the call to junk the controversial bill are Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, and Liza Soberano.

Recently, Kobe Paras took to his Twitter account to express his sentiments regarding the incident in UP Cebu and vowed to help the activists who were arrested.

“I saw the news in Cebu about my fellow isko and Iskas. To all my people there who got arrested. Thank you standing up for what is right. To all my isko and iskas in cebu & everywhere else, stay strong, stay safe, and stand ten toes down. We will raise money to bail those affected!” he wrote.
