A helpless grandpa collapsed while waiting for a public vehicle along Commonwealth Avenue, Litex Road in Quezon City for almost three hours

Lolo Ernesto Cuña collapsed due to the extreme heat of the sun while waiting for a public utility vehicle heading to Central Bank during the first day of the general community quarantine in Metro Manila.

The police authorities and health workers assisted the old man after he collapsed beside the road. Tatay Ernesto was on his way to Central Bank for a transaction when the incident happened.

Tatay Ernesto is only one of thousands of Filipino commuters who were experiencing hardships and difficulties to reach their destination amid the relaxed lockdown in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.

“Wala kasing masakyan eh. (Papunta sa) Central Bank papapalit sana ako ng pera,” Cuña said.

The two lanes of Commonwealth are already filled with passengers struggling to find a public vehicle for work. Some commuters expressed their disappointment due to the lack of transport vehicles.
