Atlanta Police Attempt To Gas Protesters Backfires Due To Nature
ATLANTA POLICE – Following the death of George Floyd, several states have been up in arms as residents took to the streets in protest.
Admittedly, the once peaceful protest had turned into riots in some states. Some say this was started by police themselves who began to attack peaceful protesters.
However, in Atlanta, the police attempted to disperse the crowd of protesters with the use of teargas. But, little did they know that nature wasn’t particularly on their side.
In the video posted by Reddit User Holy Fruits, you could see the police lined up in a defensive position as protesters scurry about the streets. In an attempt to dissuade these people, the police threw cans of tear gas at them,
But, some brave souls from the site of the protesters took the initiative to throw back the tear gas to the side of the police. Along with this, the wind also began to work in favor for the protesters.

Meanwhile, some netizens argued that the police should not be allowed to use teargas on citizens. According to an article from TheWorld, during the Geneva Conventions, it was agreed upon that he use of tear gas was banned in warfare.
So, why is it still being used by the police? As per the article, it was because authorities still needed to use something less lethal than guns to assess escalated situations.
But, the emphasis here should be on “escalated”. As such, there should be layers and layers of de-escalation and steps taken before even considering the use of tear gas.
Yet, in some cases across the United States, tear gas was being deployed even on peaceful protests. Thus, the cycle of aggression between the protesters and police keep on continuing.
