During the “enhanced community quarantine” in Metro Manila, the Filipino prima ballerina Lisa Macuja decided to share her talent online. COVID-19 couldn’t stop this talented Filipina in inspiring young kids to learn the ballet.
The 55-year-old top ballerina was hailed as the “ballerina of the people.” No Pinay ballerina has surpassed her recognition yet. She’s currently the Chief-executive officer and Artistic Director of Ballet Manila.
Lisa Macuja has found a way to share ballet tips despite being quarantined. Through social media, she was able to share some technique in ballet dancing.
In a Facebook post, Lisa Macuja admitted she had difficulty in adjusting to the new normal. She said the celebration of Ballet Manila’s 25th year will be different.
“I just had to repost this because it might help someone who is feeling low today. I just finished teaching @balletmanila their company class – a last class of the week. Teaching online is very different from teaching in the studio and we really just figure it out from day to day. And we are surviving! Ballet Manila in our 25th year is going to be different – but still a celebration of dance, of life and of our love for the art form that has dominated our lives before Covid and will continue post Covid!! Mabuhay!” she wrote.
