DUTERTE – Malacañang confirmed that the President has accepted the resignation of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary Eliseo Rio Jr.

A lot of responsibilities are on the shoulders of the President that is why it is really important that he got trustworthy people fit for the job. The Chief Executive assigns individuals on posts in the different government agencies.

The President may also terminate individuals whose performance does not match his standard for the post or who has lost his trust. Most of those fired by him are those surrounded with corruption accusations.

Meanwhile, there are those officials whom the administration is grateful for even until they left their post. One of them is Eliseo Rio Jr., the outgoing undersecretary of the DICT.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has accepted the resignation of DICT Undersecretary Eliseo Rio Jr. It was in February when he made the decision to leave the post.

Rio cited complications in DICT and his old age, being 75 years old, as the reason behind his decision to reign. He is a licensed Electronics and Communications Engineer. He finished the ECE Board Exams in 1971 as the top 4.

Based on the report, the Palace is grateful for the services that Rio extended to the country as part of the DICT. Roque also expressed the Palace’s good wishes for his future endeavors.

“The Palace thanks Usec. Rio for his invaluable services to the nation and we wish him well in all his future endeavors,” the Presidential Spokesman expressed to DZMM.
