P30k Reward Awaits After Constituents Reported Anomalies of Their Brgy. Officials
Malacañang Palace announced Tuesday that P30k reward awaits citizens who reported their village officials of SAP distribution anomalies.
Previously, President Rodrigo Duterte offers P30,000 reward money to those who can give information on local government officials stealing the financial aid for the poor beneficiaries. Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque also urged the public to report any corruption activities, particularly stealing and taking advantage of the distribution of government’s assistance.
On Monday, May 18, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that 23 village executives were facing complaints about the reported irregularities in the distribution of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash assistance from the government.
The reported anomalies include splitting of the money, getting a cut or “tara” and falsification of the list of beneficiaries. Graft and corruption will be filed against erring officials who were caught for anomalies in distributing cash aid.
According to Roque, there will four more cases to be filed in the next few days while 110 are under case buildup of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, based on the report of ABS-CBN News.
Meanwhile, concerned citizens who reported the irregularities village executives will receive the P30,000 reward offered by Duterte. Even though they won’t the cash assistance of the government, they still enjoy reward which much higher than the cash aid.
